Join us for a special fundraiser to celebrate and recognize Shirley Satterfield and the Witherspoon-Jackson community. Proceeds will fund WJHCS’ future museum and endowment, so we can continue our mission to preserve and promote Princeton’s African-American heritage.

Why 2026?

1. April 11, 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood’s designation as Princeton’s 20th Historic District.
2. 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Witherspoon-Jackson Historical and Cultural Society (WJHCS).
3. November 13, 2026 marks the 5th anniversary of the unveiling of the 29 Heritage Tour plaques.
4. These milestones provide a natural opportunity to celebrate the organization’s accomplishments and the individuals who made them possible.

Why Shirley Satterfield?

1. Foundational leader in the growth and development of WJHCS.
2. Played a critical role in advancing the organization’s mission of preservation, education, and community engagement.
3. Her leadership helped establish the foundation upon which current and future successes are built.
4. Recognition as Director Emeritus would acknowledge her lasting contributions and service to the organization and community.
